Caldwell County FSA Update The acreage reporting deadline for 2014 crops is July 15th at the Caldwell County FSA Office.
Signup for the Livestock Disaster Assistance programs are currently underway and the office is trying to get all livestock producers enrolled by September 30th. Please stop by the office to obtain information concerning the data you will need to compile to receive your payment. The 2014 Farm Bill provides retroactive authority to cover losses that occurred on or after October 1, 2011. All livestock producers will want to check on these programs. Farmers may nominate themselves, or others, for the County Committee election. There are 3 Local Administrative Areas (LAA) in Caldwell County who have representatives serving on the County Committee. The area which will have the election in 2014 is LAA 2 which is comprised of Hamilton, Kingston, Gomer, and New York Townships. Nomination forms for the 2014 election must be postmarked or received in the Caldwell County office by close of business on August 1, 2014. The election will take place this fall. Questions?
