"Lymph Node Study"

Doctors at the NIH Clinical Center want to learn more about the immune system and how it responds to HIV infection in blood, lymph nodes, and bone marrow. We are seeking healthy volunteers to compare information to our patients in the study with HIV. Compensation will be provided.

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are 18 years or older
  • Are in good health
  • Have a lymph node that you can feel or your doctor has told you that he or she can feel a lymph node in your underarm, groin, or neck
  • Are HIV negative
  • Have not been diagnosed with hepatitis B or C

The study involves:

  • Up to four outpatient visits to the NIH Clinical Center
  • A medical evaluation
  • Several blood draws
  • A biopsy of one of your lymph nodes
